“Salt Lake Community College’s Assembly Technician Training Program delivers fast, customized training designed to meet the urgent workforce needs of Utah’s advanced manufacturing sector. Supported by Talent Ready Utah’s Utah Works grant, this program provides specialized onboarding for new and early-career hires in aerospace, medical device, and passenger rail manufacturing.
SLCC offers three streamlined programs—Aerospace Assembly, Mechanical Assembly, and Electrical Assembly—co-developed with leading employers like Albany Engineered Composites and Stadler Rail. Training is delivered in hybrid formats that mirror real-world work environments and uses industry-specific equipment and documentation. These employer-aligned programs ensure that participants develop immediately applicable skills and are prepared for roles such as Structural Assembler, Mechanical Final Assembler, and Electrical Final Assembler.
